This project included the redesign and renovation of the City of Waco Freedom Fountain. Originally built in 1973 to memorialize a 1971 trip that 12 Waco residents made to Paris to press North Vietnamese officials for release of U.S. prisoners of war, the Freedom Fountain stands as a monument for Freedom for past and present war veterans. Renovations included expanding the overall diameter of the fountain, completely new fountain pumping system, fountain lighting and control room, refurbishment of the cascading waterfall and vast site improvements to provide a serene park atmosphere. The exterior diameter of the Freedom Fountain includes cast concrete panels with the phrase "FREEDOM" in 54 different languages.
